What is alttab?
alttab is a free set of interactive practice environments for everyday office work. Each environment is a faithful recreation of a familiar tool — spreadsheet, email client, chat, docs, design canvas or CRM — where you work through short, timed exercises. It runs entirely in your browser, with no account and nothing to install.
What can I practise?
Inbox triage and email filing, phishing awareness, CRM pipeline stages, lead qualification, duplicate-record detection, spreadsheet accuracy and consolidation, keyboard speed, and design alignment and colour matching.
Which environments are available?
Seven so far: a spreadsheet (Excel), an email client (Outlook), two chat workspaces (Microsoft Teams and Slack), a document workspace (Notion), a design canvas (Figma) and a CRM (Salesforce). More may be added over time.
What does the Esc key do?
Esc switches the working area to a static reference view — a finished report, an email thread or a chat log — so you can step away from an exercise. Press Esc again to return to it.
Is it free? Do I need an account?
It is completely free and there is no sign-up or download. Just open the site and start.
Does alttab track me or send my data anywhere?
No. There are no accounts, and everything runs locally in your browser — your results and streak are saved only on your own device.
Does it work on mobile?
It works best on a desktop or laptop with a keyboard, since the exercises use keyboard and pointer controls. It loads on phones too.
How closely do the environments match the real tools?
Each one is a careful visual match — layout, colours and typography — of the real tool's interface, so the exercises feel like the software you already use. alttab does not use any real company logos.
What languages is alttab available in?
Five: English, Spanish, German, Italian and French. The interface and the exercise content follow the language you choose.
